Mable.  Chad blacked old [name omitted by me] eye for her Wed. night and she had him arrested.  His trial comes off at one o'clock this afternoon.  Will send you another card tomorrow telling you how he comes out.  Don't think it will be much for all making light of it.  -Blanche.

  1. Mrs. Earle Leathers first name was Mabel L nee Thomas. She and her husband were living in Timber, Peoria, Illinois in 1910 (Glasford is a suburb of Peoria). They moved to Washington, Keokuk, Iowa by 1915 (per Iowa census).

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M92F-SRS shows Blanche was her younger sister.

There is a town named "What Cheer" in Keokuk county, Iowa, about 40 miles west of Washington (and in what looks like the middle of nowhere).
