  1. Interestingly enough, Miss Ellen Mercy Hoyt (b. circa 1908 in New Hampshire) was a school science teacher. In the 1930 US Census, a Frank Jones is living with her (and her family). I wonder if Frank Jones and Abbie Jones (from the previous post) were related - they came from the same place.

  2. Hmmm. That's interesting. It's quite possible that these postcards came from the same collection, so it could very well be that they are family. Maybe future posts will hold the answer to that. Thanks, Iggy!

  3. Edward E Hoyt was Ellen's father. His father (Also Edward E Hoyt) married Mercy Blaisdell Hood (which fits the c/o initals) but...

I found Mercy Blaisdell Hood had a brother named Milton B. Hood and he was married to Fanny (nee Montgomery). She is the aunt that sent this card.

    1. Mercy and Milton are my great grand aunt and uncle. Their sister Lorena Joanna Hood is my great grandmother. I have some pictures of the Hoods at the dairy farm in Derry NH, very close to these pictures in the calendar. Thanks for finding these!!

  5. The interface to this document might be awkward - but this calendar from "Purity Spring Resort" has old photos and history of the families involved with this postcard.
