  1. Cool! Two addresses to work with, such a pleasant change! :)

Martha Jane Parker nee' Savary was born 1 May 1845. She was the wife of Aaron B Parker, a Civil War veteran. The 1920 US census shows her widowed and living at 483 Main Street South Groveland, Essex, MA.

We find Emily A Marshall born 4 Dec 1848 in New Hampshire, died 3 Jan 1914 of cancer, a tailoress, never married, living with her sister-in-law, Stella M Marshall and unmarried sister Attie S Marshall at the address given on the card in the 1910 US census.

I'm left wondering how they knew each other!

  2. Greetings! Aaron was my Great Great Great Grandfather and I have Marthas' b-day as 8-21-1844. Interesting I have a different date. I'll have to back-track and see if I can figure out why? Since Aaron was a "tanner" and Emily a "tailoress" perhaps they worked together?
A few years back a kid working on his Eagle Scout badge elected to do a community service clean-up of some public land in South Groveland. In the process he discovered a monument built for/to Aaron Parker thanking him for his service in the Civil War. Over the years the monument was overgrown with brush and no one knew it even existed. The kid cleaned it all up and now you can drive by and see the thing. It's pretty cool!
The Parkers of South Groveland were very well known back in the early 1800's through the 1900's and are direct descendants of the Mayflower passenger John Goodman. Most are no longer with us but William Parker Sr., My Dad still lives in Groveland.

    Best regards,
    William Parker Jr.
