Dear Frances. Just received the photos and many thanks. Gee you shouldn't have ordered so many. Say where the deuce did you disappear to Sun? We came right along didn't even take time to phone and the house was in darkness when we got there. When are you coming out? Will you be here next Sun?
Always your Friend,
Mabel

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XDCZ-44H shows Harry P Coffey married Frances Herdegen of Grand Forks, N.D. in 1914. So the postcard postdates that. Mr. and Mrs. H P Coffey appear to have moved to Roanake, Virgina by 1919 (he appears as a "Salesman" in the city directories) but I can't find them in the census records.
ReplyDeleteAh, here we go:

1920 US census shows Frances living in Roanoke, Virgina (the name was spelled Caffey).
Harry was 15 years older than Frances.
I wonder if the "photos" mentioned on the post card might be wedding photos. :)
